A big update has come out for the candidates preparing for UGC NET exam or entrance exam. National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit card or hall ticket for the entrance exam to be held on 31 December 2025 on its official website. Candidates can download their admit card by visiting the National Testing Agency’s website ugcnet.nta.nic.in and entering their important information like application number and date of birth.

UGC NET examination will start from 31 December 2025 and will be held till 7 January 2026. Under this examination, candidates become eligible to become Assistant Professor in Indian universities and if a candidate passes this examination with good marks, then the candidate gets Research and Fellowship (JRF), through which he can pursue his PhD and the government also provides scholarship to do research.
This examination of UGC NET will be conducted completely in computer based i.e. CBT mode. It is worth noting that currently the admit card has been issued only for the examination to be held on 31 December 2025, the admit card for the examination to be held on the remaining days will be issued 3 to 4 days before the day of the examination. The pattern of UGC NET entrance exam is divided into two parts. A total of 150 multiple choice questions (MCQs) will be asked from the candidates and it is mandatory to answer all the questions. Candidates will be given 3 hours to answer all the questions and the entrance exam will be of 300 marks.
How to download admit card?
- Candidates should visit the official website of UGC NET at ugcnet.nta.nic.in to download their admit card.
- Then you will see ‘Latest News’ section on the homepage, inside which you will see the link of ‘Admit Card Download’.
- After clicking on the link, enter your required information, in which your application number and date of birth will have to be entered.
- After you fill your information, press the login button and your admit card will appear in front of you, which you can download.
- If any candidate faces any problem in downloading the admit card or the information is incorrect like name and application number etc., then you can immediately call NTA helpline number 011-40759000 or send an email to ugcnet@nta.ac.in.
