Dispute on history

The most controversy is about history subject. In this syllabus, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s book “The Indian War of Independence” has been suggested to study freedom struggle. This part has caused the controversy.

Critics say that if the freedom movement is taught only from Savarkar’s perspective, it will reduce the diversity and prevalence of the movement. He believes that there were many streams including Gandhi, Nehru, Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose in the freedom struggle, which should be taught in a balanced manner.

On the other hand, some academics on the other hand believe that ignoring Savarkar’s contribution will also be unjust with history. He says that it is necessary to introduce students from every perspective so that they themselves can reach the right conclusion.
