There is big news for the candidates preparing to appear for the Uttarakhand Combined State Civil Senior Subordinate Services Main Examination 2025. Uttarakhand Public Service Commission issued an official notification on 05 December 2025 saying that the PCS Main Examination 2025 has been stopped for the time being. This decision has been taken after the order of the High Court, Nainital. Now the candidates will have to wait for the new examination date.
According to the release issued by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, the PCS Main Examination 2025 has been temporarily postponed. This step of the Commission is important because the candidates were busy preparing for the examination proposed till 09 December 2025, but the order passed by the Nainital High Court on 04 December 2025 put a direct ban on the examination process.
Why was the exam postponed?
On the basis of Writ Petition No. 455 (SSB) of 2025, the Nainital High Court has directed the Commission not to conduct the examination at present. Although the issue of the petition has not been directly mentioned in the notification, it is believed that the court intervened due to some objections and regulatory issues related to the selection process.
The Commission had released the schedule of PCS examination on 07 May 2025 through advertisement number A-1/E-1/PCS-2025/2025-26, after which the possible dates for the main examination were fixed from 06 December 2025 to 09 December 2025 but the court order stopped it.

It is clearly stated in the notification that the main examination is postponed till further orders, the new schedule has not been decided yet, candidates will just have to wait and check the official website of UKPSC regularly.

As soon as the next order is received from the court, the examination schedule will be released again. The new dates will be informed by a separate notification on the UKPSC website. Candidates do not need to make any changes in the admit card or other documents as of now.
