In the post on X, Priyanka Chaturvedi has also asked the government question that when 18 OTT platforms were blocked, then why was the owl app and Alt Balaji app not banned. Priyanka wrote in the post, ‘Apps blocked by the government mainly served pornographic content. 18 apps were banned. Surprisingly, the two biggest apps – owls and Alt Balaji – were kept out of this ban. Will the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting tell the country why they were exempted from this ban? ‘
Priyanka Chaturvedi also gave the list of apps which were banned.
On March 14, 2024, The I & B. Ministry Had Blocked 18 OTT Platforms, which was found to be streaming obscene and pornographic content.
