Ultratech Cement Shares: Aditya Birla Group’s company UltraTech Cement shares will be in focus during business on Thursday. In fact, the company is preparing to sell its share of 6.49 percent in The India Cements through the Offer for Sale.
UltraTech Cement Limited said on Wednesday that the Committee of Directors and Officers of the company has approved the sale of 2.01 crore equity shares of The India Cements Limited (ICEM), which is 6.49 percent of the company’s paid equity share capital. This disinvestment process is in line with the applied rules and guidelines issued by market regulator SEBI and stock exchanges. That is, the company will sell its stake through the sale proposal (OFS) on the stock exchange platform.
There was a deal between them in both companies
UltraTech Cement won 10,13,91,231 equity shares of India Cement in December last year, which is equivalent to a 32.72 percent stake in the company. With this, UltraTech’s total stake in India Cements increased to 55.49 percent. Earlier, in June, UltraTech Cement bought a 22.77 percent stake of India Cement at a price of Rs 268 per share.
With this, in the month of July, UltraTech took control of India Cements and became a promoter. With this, India Cements became its subsidiary company. The share of 32.72 percent in the company was purchased by UltraTech Cement for Rs 390 per share i.e. for Rs 3954 crore.
India is the second big cement producer of the world
The company’s chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla said during the AGM said that the company is ready to cross the capacity of 200 million tonnes of production by the end of the business year 2026. By March 2025, its annual production capacity was 188.8 million tonnes and in 2025 its net revenue reached Rs 75,955 crore and sales volume to 135.83 million tonnes, which shows a gain of over 14 percent year-on-year. Currently, India is the second largest cement producer in the world and has a 30.8 percent stake in cement production in the global market.
