Everyone is worried about the violent protests in India’s neighboring Nepal. India has issued advisory for its citizens. Now at the same time, the United Nations has also expressed its concern over the situation in Nepal. A statement issued by UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres said that the United Nations is clearly monitoring this situation with deep concern.
The statement issued by the UN Secretary -General said that it is necessary that the government should protect and respect the rights of freedom of peace and freedom of expression. I think security forces should follow the basic principles of use, as our Human Rights High Commissioner said.
‘Government and protesters should talk among themselves’
The statement further said that we are definitely very sad due to the loss of life and property in Nepal. I think there is a very lively democracy in Nepal. It is important that the government and protesters meet and try to move forward by talking and discuss the issues in a peaceful manner.

Protests have been taking place in Nepal since Monday regarding the matter of social media ban. At least 19 people have died and more than 300 people have been injured in the violent protests of Gen Z in Nepal.
Curfew in many cities of Nepal
The Nepali Authority has imposed curfew in Kathmandu and many other cities of Nepal. In Nepal, Indian citizens have been asked to be vigilant and follow the guidelines issued by the officials.
