Mouni recently attended an event where some elderly people misbehaved with her, after which Mouni could not remain silent and narrated the whole incident on social media.
Mouni was molested
Mouni recently shared a story on her official Instagram account. In which she told that she had reached Haryana for an event. Where some elderly men misbehaved with the actress, touched her inappropriately and started abusing her when she refused. Mouni wrote, ‘There was an event in Karnal a few days ago and I am very saddened by the behavior of the guests, especially those two uncles who were of the grandparents’ age. As soon as the event started, when I moved towards the stage, uncle and all the men in the family put their hands on my waist to click photos. When I said – Sir, please remove your hand, he did not like it at all.
Obscene gestures and lewd comments
Mouni further told that after reaching the stage the matter got worse. The actress wrote, ‘An even more interesting thing happened at the stadium. Two uncles were standing right in front of me and making lewd comments, making obscene gestures and abusing me. I realized this and first respectfully signaled him not to do so, upon which he started throwing roses at me. Then in the middle of the performance I started leaving the stage, but immediately came back and completed my performance. Even after this, they did not stop nor did any family member or organizers remove them from the front.
Mouni’s concern
Although the actress focused on her performance and perfected it, it was a very worrying situation. Apart from this, Mouni also expressed concern for other new girls coming into the industry. The actress said through the story that when a popular actress like her has to face this, then it is beyond imagination what new girls have to face. In the end, Mouni told that she is feeling insulted and shocked by this incident and has also demanded action against this intolerable behaviour.
‘Video made from low angle’
Not only this, Mouni also said in this post that an artist earns his living only by showcasing his art. What would these people do if their daughters or sisters were treated like this? Not only this, Mouni also told that the stage was very high and they were making Mouni’s video from a low angle. Explaining this, the actress wrote, ‘The stage was at a high height and this uncle was making the video from a low angle. When someone asked him to stop, he abused him. I love my country, my people, my traditions, but all this? How shameless! Proud to be a man! I never post anything negative that happens to me. But I have no words for all this. I have no words or abuse to justify this behavior. We artists go to these programs to congratulate the bride and groom and add to their happiness. We are their guests and they harass us like this. Shit!’
