sent to police custody

It is noteworthy that Ravi Pujari was deported from Senegal to India about five years ago and he has been in jail since then. However, in this particular case he had not been arrested yet. On Thursday, Mumbai Crime Branch produced him in Esplanade Court, where the court sent him to police custody till January 27.

According to police sources, Ravi Pujari had threatened Remo D’Souza at the behest of Satyendra Tyagi, who had already been made an accused in this case. It is alleged that between October 2016 and February 2018, the priest called and threatened Remo, his wife Liezel and his manager several times. Through these calls, pressure was created to hasten the release of the film and a ransom of Rs 50 lakh was demanded to “settle” the matter.

What was the matter?

In the year 2018, there was an agreement between Remo D’Souza and Satyendra Tyagi regarding the film named ‘Amar Must Die’. Later a dispute arose between the two regarding the rights and money of the film. Tyagi claimed that he had invested in the film and was to get around Rs 5 crore, which was not given by Remo.

After this controversy, it is alleged that Satyendra Tyagi took the help of Ravi Pujari to recover his money. After this, Ravi Pujari started threatening Remo D’Souza, his wife and his manager and demanded an extortion money of Rs 50 lakh.
