America’s fast bowler Shadley Van Schalkwyk continues to be in the headlines in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. While many players move towards retirement at the age of 37, Shedley is going through the most memorable phase of his career. He has achieved another big feat by taking four wickets against Pakistan.
Earlier, Shedley had also taken four wickets against India in the opening match of the tournament. Now by taking four wickets each in two consecutive matches, he has become only the second bowler to do so in T20 World Cup history. Earlier in 2024, Fazalhaq Farooqui of Afghanistan had achieved this feat.
Ability to change the course of a match in one over
In the match against Pakistan, Shedley took wickets at important moments. He sent batsmen like Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Aga, Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf to the pavilion. The special thing was that by taking two wickets in one over, he put a brake on the pace of Pakistan’s innings. Even against India, he surprised everyone by taking three wickets in a single over. Experience and precise line-length are clearly visible in his bowling.
Didn’t win, but won hearts
However, despite Shedley’s brilliant performance, America had to face defeat against Pakistan by 32 runs. However, his bowling has definitely attracted the attention of the cricket world. He is among the bowlers who have taken the most wickets in the current tournament.
Journey from South Africa to America
