Delhi High Court granted bail to former BJP leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the Unnao rape case. This relief has been given on the bond of Rs 15 lakh. Even after this bail, Kuldeep Sengar will not be able to come out of jail because he is serving a 10-year sentence in the case of murder of the victim’s father.
High Court ordered to stay in Delhi only
Delhi High Court has suspended Sengar’s sentence pending the hearing on his appeal. Sengar was ordered not to come within 5 kilometers of the victim and remain in Delhi during the bail period. The High Court directed Kuldeep Singh Sengar to report to the police every Monday.
Passport will have to be submitted to the lower court
Sengar will not threaten the victim and she will have to submit her passport to the trial court. The High Court ordered that if any condition is violated the bail will be cancelled. Kuldeep Singh Sengar was convicted by the lower court and sentenced to life imprisonment.

It is noteworthy that the Unnao rape case took place in the year 2017, in which Sengar was the main accused. The case took a serious turn when Sengar’s brother allegedly beat the victim’s father to death in police custody. Sengar was convicted in this case and is currently lodged in Delhi jail.
Kuldeep Singh Sengar was arrested by CBI in April 2018. In July 2028, a charge sheet was filed in this case in which Sengar was also named. In December 2019, Sengar was sentenced to life imprisonment in this case. After the announcement of the punishment, Sengar lost his MLA membership and was also suspended by BJP from the party.
