UP Board Exam 2026: 1.33 lakh students will appear for the exam at 197 centers in Gorakhpur, 22 prisoners will also appear in the exam.

In Gorakhpur, UP, the high school and intermediate board examinations of the Secondary Education Council will start at 197 examination centers in the district amid tight security arrangements and monitoring. The administration and education department have made extensive arrangements to make the examination fair, transparent and cheating-free. This time a total of one lakh 33 thousand 534 candidates will appear in the examination. Of these, there are 67,642 high school and 65,892 intermediate candidates. The examination will start from 18th February and continue till 12th March.

On the first day, the first question paper of both high school and intermediate will be of Hindi. High school examination will be held from 8:30 am to 11:45 am. Intermediate examination will be conducted as per the scheduled time table from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. The district jail has also been made an examination centre, where 22 prisoners will appear for the intermediate examination. One center administrator and two room inspectors have been deployed here.

Control room built here

A control room has been set up in the Government Jubilee Inter College of the city to monitor the examination. Live monitoring of examination centers will be done from here. Immediate action will be taken on any kind of irregularity or disturbance. District School Inspector Dr. Amarkant Singh, Principal Dr. Vishwaprakash Singh and Vice Principal Kiran Areto inspected the arrangements through CCTV cameras from the control room and gave necessary instructions to the officials.

Instructions have been given to the candidates by the administration. You will have to reach the examination center at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time. It is mandatory to bring identity card along with the admit card. Carrying mobile phones, smart watches, calculators or other electronic devices at the examination center will be completely prohibited.

Students will be able to take only these things

Candidates can carry only the prescribed stationery and will have to follow the instructions of the room invigilator while maintaining peace in the examination room. Strict action will be taken against any kind of copying or use of unfair means. To conduct the examination peacefully and in an organized manner, 10 mobile teams have been formed in the district. Of these, 6 teams will be active at the district level and 4 teams will be active at the divisional level.

Special caution is being taken regarding the security of question papers. Paper lockers at all examination centers will be opened only in the presence of the Static Magistrate, Center Administrator and Additional Center Administrator. Secure distribution has been ensured by matching the question papers, so that confidentiality is maintained.

Security arrangements are tight

To conduct the examination in a peaceful and orderly manner, 197 static magistrates, 198 center administrators, 198 outlying center administrators, 32 sector magistrates and 17 zonal magistrates have been deployed in the district. Apart from this, 8,265 room inspectors will be on duty. Section 144 will remain in force around the examination centres.

CCTV surveillance and security forces will be deployed. Apart from this, arrangements have been made for surveillance through CCTV cameras at all the centers and adequate number of police forces have been deployed. Tight security arrangements will also be maintained around the examination centres, so that the examination will be conducted in a peaceful environment.
