The high school and intermediate examinations of Asia’s largest examination body, Council of Secondary Education i.e. UP Board, are starting from today i.e. 18th February, which will continue till 12th March. A total of 53 lakh 37 thousand 778 candidates will appear in the 2026 UP Board examination, which includes 27 lakh 61 thousand 696 high school students and 25 lakh 76 thousand 82 intermediate students. 8033 examination centers have been created in the entire state for UP Board examinations. At the same time, UP Board has made extensive arrangements for the examination in a cheating-free, fair and transparent manner.

Two command centers built in Lucknow

To conduct the UP Board examinations in a cheating-free and transparent manner, two command and control rooms have been created in the state capital Lucknow, while a command and control center has also been created in Prayagraj, the headquarters of the UP Board. From the Commandant Control Center set up at the headquarters, each strong room and examination center of 75 districts of 18 divisions of the state is being monitored online. Employees have been deployed 24 hours a day in three shifts of 8 hours each in the command and control room set up at the headquarters of the UP Board. 36 employees are working in every shift. Apart from this, control rooms have also been set up in all the regional offices of UP Board and DIOS office of every district, from where live monitoring of examination centers and strong rooms is being done.

These helpline numbers will help

Two helpline numbers 1800-180-5312 and 1800-180-5310 have also been issued in UP Board. These helpline numbers, which were started from February 3, are receiving phone calls from candidates, parents and teachers regarding problems and queries related to the board exams. Here too, four employees have been deployed in three shifts of 8 hours each. Children are asking a lot of questions on the helpline number regarding exam related problems and anxiety. At the same time, parents are also inquiring about the problems related to the examination centres.

How many examination centers in which category?

According to Minister of State for Secondary Education (Independent Charge) Gulab Devi, in view of the UP Board Exam, 18 districts have been declared sensitive, while 222 examination centers have been kept in the highly sensitive and 683 sensitive category. STF and local intelligence units at these centers will be kept active throughout the examination period. At the same time, inspection of highly sensitive centers has been ensured twice a day.

Lucknow’s toll free number will also help

To assist the candidates and parents, toll-free helpline numbers 18001806607 and 18001806608 have been issued at the State Level Control Room, Lucknow. Apart from this, complaints and suggestions can also be lodged through email, Facebook, X handle and WhatsApp. Along with Prayagraj headquarters, control centers have also been set up in the regional offices of Varanasi, Meerut, Bareilly and Gorakhpur.

What arrangements are there to stop copying?

Special security arrangements have been made to prevent copying. Additional reserve question paper sets of all subjects are kept safe in a double locked cupboard for contingency. Special security features including serial number in four colours, Council logo and subtle “UPMSP” marking have been added to the answer sheets to eliminate the possibility of tampering. This year, for the first time, the UP Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad examination will also be monitored online.
