Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has announced the date of high school and intermediate board examinations for the year 2026. This time the examinations will start from 18th February and continue till 12th March. Lakhs of students from across the state will appear in these examinations. The board has made it clear that this time the examination system will be made more strong and transparent.
A total of 52 lakh 30 thousand 297 students are registered in the 2026 examination of UP Board. These include 27 lakh 50 thousand 945 high school students and 24 lakh 79 thousand 352 intermediate students. The board has taken many necessary steps to conduct the examination on such a large scale.
Exams will be held at 8033 examination centers
This time 8033 examination centers have been made in the entire state. There will be surveillance of CCTV cameras at all the centres. The responsibility of the center administrators has been fixed, so that no irregularities occur. The local administration has also been instructed to play an active role.
Identity cards with QR code for the first time
UP Board is taking a new initiative this time. For the first time, identity cards containing QR codes are being issued to room inspectors. These identity cards have been uploaded on the board’s portal on 10 February 2026. Its purpose is to ensure that no fake room inspector can be appointed on duty. There will be a thorough identity check during the examination.
Arrangement of room inspector till 12th February
District School Inspectors (DIOS) of all the districts have been instructed to coordinate with the Basic Education Officer (BSA) and ensure the arrangement of adequate room inspectors by 12th February. The board does not want there to be a shortage of inspectors at any centre.
Medical facilities will also be available
There will also be first aid facilities for students and staff during the examination. Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of all the districts have been instructed to complete the necessary arrangements by 13 February. With this, any health problem during the examination can be dealt with immediately.
Special attention to cleanliness also
The board has also laid emphasis on cleanliness arrangements around the examination centres. Chief Development Officers (CDOs) of all the districts have been instructed to ensure that there is a clean environment around the centers before February 13. In urban areas, the cleanliness system will be strengthened in collaboration with the Municipal Commissioner.
18 districts declared sensitive
This time UP Board has declared 18 districts as sensitive. These include Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Hathras, Etah, Kasganj, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Hardoi, Kannauj, Azamgarh, Ballia, Mau, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Deoria and Gonda. Some topics and dates have been considered more sensitive in these districts. Special monitoring and strict administrative arrangements will be made here.
Strict action against copying
The board has made it clear that strict action will be taken against the copying mafia and those who spread chaos. There will be monitoring of police and administration at the examination centres. If any discrepancy is found, immediate action will be taken.
