Big news has come for lakhs of students of Uttar Pradesh. UP Board has released the complete academic calendar for the session 2026-27. With this calendar, the entire year’s studies and examination time table is now clear for students, parents and schools. The special thing is that the board examinations of the year 2027 will start from February 1, which means this time students will have to plan in advance for preparation.
According to the released calendar, the new academic session will start from April 1, 2026. There will be regular studies in the first few months. Studies will continue in schools till the third week of June, after which summer vacations will begin. After this, schools will reopen in the first week of July and studies will begin again. With this, the period of examinations and tests of students will also begin.
Unit tests will start from July
According to the calendar, the first unit test will be held in the second week of July. This test will be objective i.e. MCQ based. After this, there will be a second unit test in the last week of August, in which students will have to answer written descriptive questions.
Half year examination will be held in September-October
The half-yearly examination to be held in the middle of the year will also be in two parts. Practical examination will be conducted in the fourth week of September. After this, written examination will be held in the second and third week of October. The numbers of these examinations will be uploaded by the first week of November, so that students can know their status in time.
Another test round at the end of the year
Students will have to give tests in November and December also. The third unit test (MCQ) will be conducted in the last week of November, while the fourth unit test (written) will be conducted in the last week of December. In this way, the preparation of the students will be continuously checked throughout the year, so that they get a chance to improve their weaknesses before the board exams.

Syllabus will be completed by January
The board has also fixed the date for completing the syllabus. The entire syllabus of class 10 and 12 will have to be completed by January 10, 2027. Whereas for classes 9 and 11, this date has been kept as 25 January 2027.
Pre-board will be the real preparation
The round of pre-board examinations will start in the month of January. Practical pre-boards of class 12 will start from January 11. After this, there will be written pre-board exams for classes 10 and 12 from January 18. These exams are considered the most important part of board exam preparation because it gives students an experience like the real exam.
Main examinations will start in February
Most importantly, the annual examinations of classes 9 and 11 will be conducted from 1 February to 10 February 2027. Whereas the board practical exams of class 10 and 12 will be held from 27 January to 10 February 2027. After this, the written examinations of the board will start in the month of February itself.
