The budget session of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly is starting today from Monday (February 9, 2026). The first day of the session will begin with the address of Governor Anandiben Patel. This time this budget session will run from 9 February to 20 February. The government has appealed for cooperation from the opposition parties, while the opposition parties are preparing to surround it regarding SIR, law and order situation in the state and US-India trade deal.
The budget session of the Legislature will start from 11 am today. First of all, there will be the address of Governor Anandi Ben Patel in which she will present the account of the work done by the state government. After this, ordinances, notifications etc. will be laid on the table of the House. On the very first day, the government can put eleven bills for approval.
Suresh Khanna will present the budget on Wednesday
On February 11, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna will present the budget for the year 2026-27 in the UP Vigan Sabha. The Finance Minister assured the leaders of all parties that the government will work with full seriousness to give a new impetus to development and take it forward. On the other hand, opposition parties have also made preparations to corner the government.
Opposition prepared to surround on these issues
Samajwadi Party and opposition parties are preparing to attack the government on the issue of SIR. Opposition parties can also create ruckus in the House regarding law and order and trade deals in the state.
On Sunday, before the beginning of the budget session, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana called an all-party meeting and sought cooperation from all parties to run the proceedings of the House smoothly. He said that democracy is strengthened by dialogue and positive discussion. The Assembly is a platform for discussion and debate, not for noise.

In this meeting, Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, Apna Dal (Sonelal) leader Ram Niwas Verma, Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Rajpal Baliyan, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party leader Omprakash Rajbhar, Nishad Party’s Ramesh Singh, Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra and Jansatta Loktantrik Dal’s Vinod Saroj also spoke and assured cooperation.
