During the discussion on the budget, the atmosphere in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly became heated on Wednesday evening when a heated argument broke out between Fisheries Department Minister Sanjay Nishad and Samajwadi Party MLAs. Expressing protest, SP MLAs reached the Well and started creating a ruckus. Meanwhile, SP MLAs snatched the papers from the minister’s hand, which led to a scuffle between the two parties. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh complained to the bench, calling it an attempt to attack the minister.
Dr. Sanjay Nishad started his statement by praising the budget, but after this he launched a scathing attack on SP and Congress. He said that the Nishad community fought the British, fought the Mughals and has also been fighting people like Congress for the last 75 years. Pointing towards SP, he said that during their 30 years in power, they did not give even a single rupee to the fishermen community.
He claimed that the Central Government gave Rs 3000 crore to the entire country in 67 years, whereas the previous governments in Uttar Pradesh did not give even a single rupee. He also alleged that first a minister was appointed and the post of fisherman in the department was transferred to the Urdu section. He sarcastically said that whether Nishad reads Urdu or fish reads Urdu, they are crocodiles of fishermen.

The minister did not stop and continued speaking even amidst the continuous discussion in the House. He said that the previous governments looted jobs and took away the livelihood of the people. He alleged that Kevat, Mallah and people of Bind community were insulted. He said that there was a movement in Gorakhpur and the society has sent him to the House so that he can reveal the truth.
Speaker Satish Mahana had to intervene
Meanwhile, Dr. Nishad raised the issue of the alleged use of caste-related words in the statement given by Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey on the Governor’s address. He said that tell your leader to apologize, if he does not apologize then a case will be registered under the SC-ST Act. He also said that the words being mentioned are respectful words.
After the SP members came to the well, instructions were continuously given to the Minister from the bench to end his speech, but Dr. Nishad kept speaking. Meanwhile, some SP members moved towards him and snatched the paper from his hand. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh called it a scuffle and demanded intervention and said that this is the conduct of SP.
When the controversy did not seem to stop, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana had to intervene. He came to the House and pacified both the parties and said that the House should be allowed to function as it was. After this the situation gradually became normal.
