A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, here in Kot Bazaar of Payagpur police station area, upset with the alleged taunts of her husband and in-laws for not having a son, a woman jumped into the pond with her two daughters, due to which all three died. Police gave this information on Sunday.
In this regard, Payagpur police station in-charge (SHO) Sanjay Singh said on Sunday that Nisha, daughter of Ramchandra Gupta, resident of Shivpur Bazar, was married to Vishnu, resident of Kotbazar of Payagpur area, many years ago. Vishnu and Nisha had three daughters aged two, seven and 10.
‘Husband and mother-in-law used to taunt me for not having a son’
He told that the deceased Nisha had differences with her husband and in-laws. Nisha’s father Ramchandra alleges that his daughter was taunted by her husband and in-laws for not having a son and she was upset about this. Nisha’s father has also accused his daughter’s in-laws of harassing her for dowry.
All three bodies recovered from the pond
Regarding this incident, Payagpur police station in-charge (SHO) Sanjay Singh said that on Saturday evening, Nisha (42) along with her two daughters Misty (7) and Khushboo (2) jumped into a deep pond outside the village. He told that with the help of divers, the police took out the bodies of the three from the pond on Saturday night.
Case registered against husband and in-laws
He told that on the complaint of the deceased’s father, investigation has been started by registering a case against Nisha’s husband and in-laws under section 85 (domestic violence and cruelty), section 108 (inducing suicide) and 3/4 Dowry Prohibition Act of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). The SHO said that the bodies of the woman and her two daughters have been sent for post-mortem and advance legal action is being taken in the matter.
