On the directions of Uttar Pradesh Government, Varanasi Police is tightening its grip on Bangladeshis and Rohingyas living illegally in Varanasi under Operation Torch. More than 500 suspects have been found at different places in the district, who are being identified on the basis of their documents and they have been given a week’s time for this.

In this regard, according to the information received by ABP Live from Varanasi Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal, a total of more than 500 suspects were found from Kashi, Gomti and Varuna zones of Varanasi, from whom identity cards have been sought for their identification. He says that he has come here from different states for work. He has been given a week’s time. If he is not able to prove its authenticity then he will be sent to the detention centre.

Most suspicious in Varuna zone

This campaign is being run on a war footing by the police administration in Varanasi. Among the three zones of Varanasi, maximum number of suspects have been found – 200 in Varuna Zone, 175 in Gomti Zone and 150 in Kashi Zone. Now it has to be seen how many of these people are able to reveal their identity.

CM Yogi sought cooperation from the public in action
