UP Politics: The Indian National Congress government in Karnataka proposed to give four percent reservation to Muslims in government contracts. This fight first reached Delhi from Karnataka and now its stop is towards Lucknow. Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav has taken a different stand from the Congress on this issue.
On the reservation dispute, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said that reservation should not be received on the basis of religion. We are in favor of caste census. Reservation should be provided but backward and Dalits should get reservation. Those who are left behind should be found, but reservation should not be found on the basis of religion.
The SP Chief said that the BJP has first abolished the reservation of Anglo Indian, now their eyes are on the Waqf Board, their intention is not clear.
