The legislature has been restored in the Mau assembly seat of Abbas Ansari, son of Uttar Pradesh mafia Mukhtar Ansari. The Assembly Secretariat issued an order related to this on 8 September. After which now the strength of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party of Om Prakash Rajbhar in the UP assembly has increased further. The number of Subhaspa MLAs in UP has increased to six.
Abbas Ansari won the election in 2022 on a Subhaspa ticket from Mau assembly seat. But Mau’s MP-MLA court sentenced him to two years in the Hate Speech case on 31 May this year, after which his assembly membership was canceled on 1 June.
Rajbhar’s strength increased in UP assembly
After the cancellation of Abbas Ansari’s legislative, one MLA from Subhaspa decreased and the number of his total MLAs was reduced from six to five. After Abbas’s legislature, the Mau seat was declared vacant, after which there was a preparation to hold elections there but in the meantime Abbas challenged the decision of the lower court in the Allahabad High Court.
On August 20, the High Court stayed the sentence of punishment pronounced to Abbas Ansari. After which, on September 8, his legislature has been restored once again. After the restoration of Abbas’s legislature, now the strength of Om Prakash Rajbhar’s party has increased again and the number of MLAs of Subhaspa has increased to six once again.
Apart from Abbas Ansari (Mau) in the UP Assembly at present, Om Prakash Rajbhar (Jahurabad seat), Hansu Ram (Belthara seat), Triveni Ram (Jakhanian), Duharam (Mahadeva) and Jagdish Narayan (Jafarabad) are the MLAs of Six Subhaspa.
Subhaspa contested the UP assembly elections in 2022 in an alliance with the Samajwadi Party. In this election, Subhaspa won six seats. However, later the distance between Akhilesh Yadav and Om Prakash Rajbhar increased and then this alliance broke. Later Om Prakash Rajbhar went with the NDA and now he is a cabinet minister in the Yogi government.
