In Uttar Pradesh, the draft voter list was released after the first phase of SIR process. In which names of approximately 2.89 crore voters have been removed. All the parties of the state were keeping an eye on this list. Voters whose names are not in the draft list will get time till February 6 for objections and claims, after which the final voter list will be released. Earlier, the deadline was extended twice by the Election Commission till December 31.
How to check your name in UP SIR?
To know whether your name is in the draft list or not, you will have to visit the website of the State Election Commission – ceouttarpradesh.nic.in. Here you have to click on DRAFT ELECTORAL ROLL 2026 on one pop. After clicking on this, the page will open in front of you. Here you can enter the captcha after selecting the name of the district and assembly and then download the PDF of your booth.
If there is no name in UP SIR How to submit documents?
If your name is not in the draft list, then you will have to fill Form 6 to get your name added, for this the form can be submitted online or to the BLO of your area. For date of birth, mark sheet, birth certificate, passport will be valid, for address, ration card, Aadhar card, bank pass book, PAN card and driving license are valid.
According to the draft list, 12.55 crore voters
After the SIR process in UP, there are 12.55 crore voters, while the names of 2.89 crore voters have been removed. Now you will get one month’s time after the release of the draft list. In which voters will get a chance to add their names. The Commission made it clear that those who are legitimate voters will be given ample opportunity.
State Election Officer Navdeep Rinwa had recently clarified that those whose names are not in the draft list need not panic. If they provide the documents, their names will be added to the voter list, whereas the opposition parties had accused of cutting the votes of the poor and minorities in the name of SIR.
