There are continuous fluctuations in the weather in Uttar Pradesh. On Tuesday, there was heavy rain in many districts including the capital Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, and at some places heavy hail also fell, due to which the cold has increased rapidly. After the rain, now the effect of dense fog is being seen in the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a fog alert from Saharanpur to Gorakhpur today on 4th February.
According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of western disturbance has now ended in UP. After which now the weather will remain dry. Today on Wednesday, there is a possibility of dense fog in both the western and eastern divisions of the state. Zero visibility is expected at many places, due to which people may face problems while traveling on the roads.
Yellow alert of dense fog in UP
There is a yellow alert of dense fog in UP today in Saharanpur, Shamli, Baghpat, Meerut, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Gonda, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Deoria, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar and Gorakhpur. Zero visibility is expected at some places in these districts.
Cold will increase due to westerly winds
After the fog, now westerly winds are going to start in UP, during this time winds are expected to blow at a speed of 15-25 km per hour in the state. Meanwhile, the weather will remain dry in the coming days, no special alert has been given anywhere. Due to which the weather will change rapidly. Winds will continue in the state till 5-8 February. However, the weather may change again on February 9 and it may rain at some places.

On Tuesday, it rained in Lucknow including Kanpur, Hardoi, Varanasi and surrounding areas. Due to which the temperature has dropped and winter has taken a turn. There is a possibility of a sudden drop of 3-6 degrees in the maximum temperature in Central UP in the next 24 hours. In the next three days, cold will increase at night and the minimum temperature may drop gradually by 3-5 degrees Celsius.
