After snowfall in the mountains, severe cold has increased in the plains of Uttar Pradesh. Dense fog and cold day conditions are prevailing in most of the districts of the state. Visibility is extremely low due to fog in the morning and night due to which people are facing a lot of difficulties in commuting. The Meteorological Department has indicated that the cold will increase in the coming days.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert that the weather will be dry in the western and eastern divisions of the state today on December 24, but during this time, there will be dense fog at some places in both the divisions. Orange alert B has been issued for extremely dense fog at some places. Due to fog here visibility can remain till zero.
At present there is no hope of relief from fog
A warning of dense fog has been issued in 32 districts of UP today. Fog will continue to wreak havoc in both the divisions on 25th and 26th December also. However, exposure to sunlight during the day can provide some relief. The minimum temperature in the state will drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next two days. After that, there is a possibility of a slight increase in it in the next 24 hours except in the eastern part.
Fog warning in these 32 districts
In UP today, orange alert of dense fog has been issued in Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bahraich, Shravasti and Balrampur and surrounding areas. Whereas there is a yellow alert of dense fog in Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Sambhal, Amroha, Badaun, Hardoi, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Gonda, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Deoria, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ballia.
The severity of cold in the state is being seen even more in rural areas. People are now forced to resort to bonfires. Due to winter, holiday has been declared in schools in many districts and in some places, school timings have been changed. The cold will increase further in the coming days. However, at present there is no sign of rain.
