Amidst the tussle over seat sharing within the NDA before the Bihar Assembly elections, Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief Upendra Kushwaha met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Talking about meeting Amit Shah, RLM Chief said that he is not angry. Earlier in the day he had said, “Nothing is well in NDA.”
There is no such thing as resentment: Upendra Kushwaha
Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha said, “There is no such thing as resentment. Conversations take place and whatever issues arise in those conversations, people resolve them in time. In that context, an issue arose, so we went to Delhi and met the top leadership of BJP. We met Home Minister and National President JP Nadda and discussed everything.”
Upendra Kushwaha will release the list of candidates soon
Referring to the meeting held with the BJP high command, the RLM chief said, “Based on what happened there, we also talked to everyone here, because everything is related to Bihar. On the basis of that, there is no confusion now. We will soon issue a press release about some candidates and seats.”
The RLM chief had on Wednesday announced an emergency meeting at the party office in Patna at 12.30 pm to discuss the future role of the party within the NDA. The meeting was suddenly adjourned.
Upendra Kushwaha wrote on social media ‘X’, “Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai and I have to leave for Delhi for discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah ji, hence the meeting to be held with party colleagues today at the camp office in Patna has been immediately postponed.”
Why was Upendra Kushwaha angry?
In the seat sharing formula announced by NDA, BJP and JDU have been given 101 seats each, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has been given 29 seats, while Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and RLM have been given six seats each.
After the announcement of the formula, Kushwaha made an emotional post on social media. He wrote that the number of seats was not as per expectations, but the workers should remain patient. He also apologized to his supporters. After this post, the discussion of dissatisfaction within RLMO intensified.
