Interviews of successful candidates in PCS 2024 Mains Examination have started from today in Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. The Commission is conducting interviews for 887 posts. The interviews started at 9 am. For this, six boards have been constituted and each board includes four to five experts. According to the candidates who came out after giving the interview, questions and answers are being asked to each candidate for about 15 to 20 minutes. In the interview, questions related to special intensive review i.e. SIR, mining in Aravalli hills, inter-caste marriage and administrative decisions are being asked by the board.
Case number one-1
Anmol from Maharashtra, who came out after giving the UPPSC PCS interview, told that his interview lasted for about 15 to 20 minutes. According to him, in the interview he was asked questions related to graduation and post graduation. According to Anmol, his background was in mechanical engineering, hence more questions related to engineering were asked. Apart from this, he was also asked questions from Governance and Political Science. He said that the attitude of the panel was cooperative and the interview was completed in a positive atmosphere.
Case number-2
Navneet Tiwari of Ayodhya told about UPPSC PCS interview that more questions related to current affairs were asked in his interview. Questions were also asked on SIR, Aravalli mining case going on in the Supreme Court and the impact of mining. According to Navneet Tiwari, being a student of Geography, the environment and impact of mining was discussed in detail with him. Apart from this, questions related to water problem, water harvesting and water conservation in Bundelkhand were asked. Along with this, situation based questions were also asked to test the administrative ability. For example, if the government has announced development schemes and the code of conduct is implemented, then how will the balance be maintained? At the same time, if tension spreads in the area due to inter-caste marriage during his tenure as SDM, then questions were also asked on how he would handle the situation and what steps he would take in case of marriage of a minor girl.
Case number-3
Navneet Rai, a law student from Azamgarh, has given UPPSC PCS interview for the first time. Although he has appeared for the mains exam thrice. He told that his interview lasted for about 20 minutes. According to him, questions were asked regarding the problems of transport in Uttar Pradesh. Questions were asked about women’s education and questions were asked about the characteristics of the Harappan civilization. According to Navneet Rai, he was also asked a question on how Harappan culture can be connected with the present culture. Apart from this, a question was asked on what you will do to make India developed by 2047.
Interview date and process
According to the Commission, the interviews of UPPSC PCS 2024 will be conducted from 16 February to 20 March. Interviews will be held in the month of February on 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 February. Whereas in March, interviews will be conducted continuously from 9th to 14th March and 16th to 20th March. All interviews are being conducted in two sessions. The first session is being held at 9:30 am and the second session at 2 pm. It is mandatory for the candidates to report at the Commission’s Saraswati campus one and a half hour before the start of the interview.
Mains result has already been released
Let us tell you that UP Public Service Commission had declared the result of PCS 2024 Mains on 4th February. The Commission has declared 2719 candidates passed for interview. The written examination of PCS Mains was held from 29 June 2025 to 2 July 2025 at the examination centers of Prayagraj and Lucknow. A total of 13,776 candidates appeared in the mains examination. Recruitment is to be done on 24 types of posts of PCS cadre. There is a total of 947 posts to be recruited. In which selection for 60 posts is to be done only on the basis of written examination. The result of these posts will be declared along with the final stage result. Apart from this, selection for 887 posts is to be done on the basis of written examination and interview. For which the interview process has been started from today.
