There is big news for lakhs of candidates of Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced the main exam dates for Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) 2023. According to the notification issued by Virendra Mani Tripathi, Deputy Secretary of the Commission, this examination will be conducted on 31 January and 1 February 2026.
This examination is very important for the candidates preparing for government jobs. Every year thousands of students take part in the RO-ARO examination conducted by UPPSC. This time 7,509 candidates were declared successful in the preliminary examination, who will now appear in the main examination.
A total of 419 posts will be appointed under this recruitment drive. These include 338 posts of Review Officer (RO), 79 posts of Assistant Review Officer (ARO) and 2 posts of ARO (Accounts). The result of the preliminary examination was released on 16 September 2025, in which 6,093 candidates were declared successful for Review Officer, 1,386 for Assistant Review Officer and 30 for ARO (Accounts).
Exam ends in two days
Now let’s talk about the exam schedule. RO-ARO main exam will be conducted in two days. On the first day i.e. on January 31, 2026, there will be General Studies and General Hindi/Drafting papers, while on the second day i.e. on February 1, 2026, there will be Hindi Essay exam.
At what time will the exam be held?
The first shift of the first day will be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, in which objective question paper of General Studies will be asked. This question paper will be like General Studies of Preliminary Examination. The second shift will run from 2 pm to 5 pm, in which there will be general Hindi and drafting paper. This question paper will be divided into two parts. In the first part, there will be subject based questions from 2 pm to 4:30 pm, while in the second part, objective questions based on general vocabulary and grammar will be asked from 4:30 pm to 5 pm.
On the second day i.e. on 1 February 2026, only one paper will be held, which will be of Hindi essay. This exam will run from 9:30 am to 12:30 noon. Candidates will get a total of three hours for this question paper.
