Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification of Civil Services Examination 2026. With this, the dream of millions of youth of the country to become IAS, IPS and IFS has once again formally started. According to the information released by UPSC, this time a total of 933 posts will be recruited through Civil Services Examination.
UPSC issued notification
The application process for UPSC CSE 2026 has started from 4th February 2026, while candidates can apply till 6 pm on 24th February 2026. Interested candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of the Commission, upsc.gov.in. The Commission has advised the candidates to read the eligibility conditions, application fee, age limit and other guidelines carefully before applying.
Out of 933 posts to be filled through this examination, 33 posts have been reserved for disabled category candidates. in these
7 posts for visually impaired and low vision candidates
11 posts for hearing impaired candidates
8 posts for candidates suffering from physical disability
7 posts are reserved for multiple disability category
The Commission has also clarified that the final number of posts is subject to change as amendments can be made after receiving the final data from the Cadre Controlling Authority.

Know what will be the age limit
Candidates applying for UPSC CSE 2026 must have a graduate degree from a recognized university. Apart from this, the age of the candidate should be minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years as on August 1, 2026. Reserved category candidates will be given relaxation in age limit as per rules. UPSC has appealed to the candidates to complete the application process on time and not wait for the last date. Civil Services Examination is considered to be one of the most prestigious and difficult examinations in the country, hence right strategy and timely preparation is the key to success.
