The final result of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 can be released any time now. For lakhs of candidates, this is the moment for which they have been waiting for the last one year. The long journey from Prelims to Mains and then to Personality Test has been completed and now everyone’s eyes are on the official website of the Commission, upsc.gov.in. Let us tell you that this time the interview round started from 5th January and continued till 27th February 2026. Usually the Commission declares the final result within three to four days of the end of the interview. If we look at the results of the last few years, the results are released in the first week of March. However, no official announcement has been made yet regarding the date and time of the result.

Selection will be done on 979 posts

The Commission has declared a total of 979 vacancies for the Civil Services Examination 2025. Along with the final result, candidates will be recommended for various services of Group A and Group B including Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Foreign Service. This time 2,736 candidates who appeared in the interview are waiting for their results. For UPSC, the final selection takes place only after successful prelims, mains and interview. The interview round is of total 275 marks and these marks play an important role in the final list.

What will be released with the results?

The final result is released in PDF format, in which the roll number, name, All India Rank of the selected candidates and the services recommended for them will be given. Along with this, merit list, topper list and cut off of different categories will also be released. The individual marks of the candidates do not come with the result but are uploaded on the website about 15 days after the declaration of the result. At the same time, the Commission also prepares a reserve list, which fills the vacant posts released later. After the release of the result, candidates have to check their medical report carefully. If someone is declared unfit, he has to file an appeal within the time limit. This process is completed through the Department of Personnel and Training.
