This story is not just about passing an exam, but about the upbringing, patience and proper preparation that takes a child from an ordinary family to extraordinary success. Shivam Shivhare, resident of Nagar Panchayat Bahuwa of Fatehpur district of UP, passed the Indian Information Service (IIS) conducted by UPSC.
As soon as the news of Shivam’s success came out, a wave of happiness spread from the family to the entire area. He himself admits that if he had not received the right environment, understanding and encouragement at home since childhood, this journey would not have been so easy. The role of his mother Sushila Shivhare was most important in Shivam’s upbringing. Mother always gave priority to education, even if resources were limited. Shivam says that mother never said that the situation was difficult, but always taught that the way out is through hard work.
Shivam tells that his father Ramashankar Shivhare taught him the importance of discipline and responsibility. Working on time, not shying away from hard work and having faith in oneself became a part of his life. This was the reason that later on, even amidst the responsibilities of job and family, he did not deviate from his goal. His wife Dr. Vijay Lakshmi Shivhare and son Ojas also contribute to his success.
Where did you study from?
Shivam’s education started from Bahuva Inter College, Fatehpur, from where he passed high school. After this he did intermediate from Shivaji Inter College, Kanpur. During studies, parents never put pressure on marks, but instead focused on learning. This method is an important lesson for today’s parents to understand the interests and abilities of their children instead of comparing them with others.
He went to Indore for higher education and did B.Tech from a college there. Along with this, he also studied journalism and mass communication. Shivam tells that during this entire period of studies, his mother always kept boosting his morale and his father stood with him in every decision.
How to prepare?
Shivam joined Prasar Bharati in the year 2015. This preparation with the job was not easy. Shivam tells that if your time management is good then you can prepare for any exam. Reading a little every day, doing revision on holidays and continuously trying without stress were the biggest strengths of his preparation. After work, he continued his efforts towards his goal by studying regularly in limited time and achieved success.
