Amidst the increasing tension between America and Denmark regarding Greenland, a big and shocking statement has come to light. The Danish Defense Ministry has clearly said that if America launches a military attack on Greenland, the Danish soldiers stationed there will fire first and ask questions later. According to the Danish government, this is not a new decision, but is part of the Army Rules (Rules of Engagement) in force since 1952, which is still in effect today.

When the Danish newspaper Berlingske questioned the Defense Ministry about the status of this rule, the Ministry clarified that this order is still in force. Under this rule, if any foreign army intrudes into Denmark or its subordinate territory, the soldiers have to immediately retaliate without waiting for orders from higher authorities.
