Russia and ukraine war: Donald Trump has said that if Russia (Moscow) or Ukraine (Kiev) creates more problems in the peace agreement, the US can retreat and will not interfere much in their conversation.
Speaking to reporters at the Oval Office of the White House on Friday, the US President said that he does not expect the war to stop in a few days, but he wants the fight to end as soon as possible.
Marco Rubio said this in his statement
The comment came a few hours after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s warning, in which he said that if there was no concrete progress in a few days, the US would withdraw from the conversation.
Rubio said, “We cannot extend this effort for several weeks and months.” He also said that America has other essential issues that need to pay attention to. The incident took place when Russia’s attack on Ukraine continues. On Friday, two people were killed and more than 100 people were injured in Russia attacks in North-Eastern cities called Kharkiv and Sumi. Russia launched a thorough attack on Ukraine in 2022, and Russian soldiers are still moving slowly in Eastern Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin has placed some conditions on the ceasefire.
Trump said this on the agreement
When asked about the agreement between Russia and Ukraine, Trump said, “We are talking about the death of people here. We want to stop it quickly.” He further said, “If for some reason one of the two side makes it very difficult, then we will say that you are foolish, you are stupid, you are terrible people and we will ignore it.”
The Trump administration initially thought that he would soon get a compromise, but till now the ceasefire efforts have not been successful and Washington is blaming both the sides.
