US President Donald Trump made a big statement on the Russia-Ukraine issue on Monday (25 August 2025) in a conversation with reporters. He said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not ready to meet Ukraine’s President Volodimir Jailonsci. Trump clearly said that Putin does not like him. He said that after the summit in Washington, he spoke to Putin. The conversation was positive, but even after this, bombing in Kiev or other places, which makes me angry.
Trump’s remarks came just a day after the statement of Russian External Affairs Minister Sergei Lavarov. Let me tell you that Lavarov told the US media that Putin is ready for talks, but the validity of the signing of the agreement is an important issue. He said that according to the Ukrainian Constitution, Jailonski is not valid. Lavarov was indicated that Russia was not considering Jailonsky as a valid leader to negotiate.
Wish to meet Kim Jong Un
Journalists asked Trump if he would like to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un again. Trump said that someday I will definitely meet him. We will definitely be face to face at some point. Let me tell you that Trump has been the first US President who had three historic meetings with Kim Jong Un in 2018 and 2019. However, there was no concrete agreement with those meetings. Trump also insisted on nuclear weapons control
With its comments on Russia and North Korea, Trump also emphasized nuclear weapons control. From his official account, he wrote that we are trying to disarma nuclear with Russia and China. We have to stop the spread of nuclear weapons. Their power is very high, they cannot be allowed to spread. Trump reiterated that his administration would continue global nuclear control efforts even in Europe and Korean peninsula.
