According to the latest report by the Global Think Tank Sipri (Stockholm International Peace Research Institute), between 2020-24, the percentage of Russia’s weapons in India was just 30 percent, while it was more than 50 percent during 2025-2019. France is second on the dependence of arms and America is at number three.
Who is the true friend of India?
India used to buy weapons from Russia at a time when America and other western countries supported Pakistan. Far from giving up arms, he was at the forefront of banning. Due to two fronts (China and Pakistan) struggling together, India had to depend on Russia for its defense needs.

In fact, Trump is upset that on Tuesday (29 July 2025), Prime Minister Narendra Modi clearly denied the intervention of any global leader in the statement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament about Operation Sindoor and Pakistan in Parliament. PM Modi did not directly take the name of Trump, but it was made clear in the gestures that the ceasefire was done to seek the pleas of Pakistan.
Since the ceasefire, Trump has kept a rote that due to America, the nuclear war in India and Pakistan was averted and ceasefire, but India has clearly said that there was no role of any third country in the ceasefire.
