UP Politics: From the year 2021, the counting of the census can start from the year 2027. This information has been given by sources. Sources claim that the census will begin on 1 March 2027. However, the census in four hill states will take place in October 2026. Which includes states like Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
After this, there will be a census from March 1 of 2027. Counting of castes will also start in this census. After about 96 years, the people as well as castes will be counted in India.
If the census starts from March 1, then this will be a time when the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh will be going on or in their final stages. If you look at the election dates of the year 2022 and the year 2017, then the census will start before the swearing in of the new government.
In Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party, Indian National Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party have been constantly demanding that caste census should be done so that everyone can get a stake. Even in the Bharatiya Janata Party, a class has been continuously demanding that ethnic census be done.
Apart from this, BJP ally Subhaspa, Nishad Party and Apna Dal (S) have also been raising their voice in favor of ethnic census.
When were the elections in 2017 and 2022?
In the year 2017, the election started in UP from 17 January and the final vote was cast on 8 March 2017. Then on 19 March 2017, the Bharatiya Janata Party government was formed under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Talking about the year 2022, this year the election started from January 14 and the last vote was on 7 March. The results came on 10 March. This time too, the BJP government was formed and Yogi was sworn in for the second time on 25 March.
After the completion of four and a half years of tenure of any assembly, the Election Commission of India has the right to hold elections anytime within 6 months. In such a situation, if the Commission announces the election dates in the last week of December 2026 and the first week of January 2027 and similarly elections are held in 7-7 stages, then the results will come only after the census starts and a new government will be formed.
