The administration continues to strictly after the violence during the ‘I Love Mohammed’ procession in Kashipur in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. On the third day of the incident of attack, stone pelting and sabotage on government vehicles in the procession without permission, there was a campaign against bulldozer action and power theft.
District Magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadoria reached the spot on Tuesday and took stock of the proceedings and instructed to maintain peace and order.
What was the whole matter?
Let us know that on Sunday 21 September, a youth named Nadeem Akhtar organized a meeting with his 400-500 colleagues at Alli Khan Chowk in Bansfodan area of Mohalla Alli Khan in Kashipur. After the meeting ended, the mob suddenly took out a procession with banner-posters, raising slogans of ‘I Love Mohammad’. When the police, who came to stop the process of moving towards Valmiki Basti, instructed not to take out permission and disperse, but the mob disregarded the orders of the police.
The miscreants attacked with sticks, stones, damaged government vehicles and beat up policemen. Several policemen including Sub -Inspector Anil Joshi were injured in the incident. SSP Manikant Mishra immediately inspected the spot and deployed additional police force. A total of 7 miscreants including Chief Mastermind Nadeem Akhtar were arrested on the basis of CCTV footage and mobile video investigation. Peace was established by implementing Section 163 BNSS.
Bulldozer and electricity department action
The next day of the incident, from Monday 22 September, the Municipal Corporation started a campaign to remove encroachments by running a bulldozer, which continued for the third day. The electricity department intensified the process of installing smart meters and catching power theft. Investigation found that there were not only meters in many places, business activities were running on residential connections due to illegal connections. Large -scale encroachments on the drains were causing waterlogging problems, which is going on fast.
Dm Nitin Singh Bhadoria inspected on the spot
On Tuesday afternoon, DM Udham Singh Nagar Nitin Singh reached Kashipur with Bhadoria team and took stock of the ongoing action in Bansfodan area. Talking to the media, he said that administration and associate teams are active. Priority is a quick and transparent disposal of complaints. Joint teams of Municipal Corporation and UPCL are taking action.
The DM further stated that the streets have become narrow, while there should be enough space in the approved maps. The streets are being arranged by removing the encroachment, so that the citizens get convenience and a permanent order. Emphasis is being laid on cleaning of drains to eliminate waterlogging.
