Uttarakhand weather today: Red and orange alerts have been issued once again in Uttarakhand for heavy rains. According to the forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, Dehradun on June 29, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in many districts of the state for the next few days.

The Meteorological Department has warned of extremely intense rainfall in some areas, which can affect life. In such a situation, the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority has alerted all the districts of the state. Today one day holiday has been announced in all schools.

According to the forecast, on June 30, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts, for which a red alert has been issued. Orange alert has been issued for the rest of the districts. Apart from this, on 1 and 2 July, there may be heavy to very heavy rainfall in the entire state. On July 3, there is a possibility of heavy rains again in Bageshwar, Rudraprayag and Nainital.

Strict instructions given to officers
The state government has instructed all the District Magistrates to ensure necessary preparations. The local administration has been asked to monitor the movement, increase monitoring in sensitive areas and keep relief teams deployed. All officers and departmental nodal officers associated with disaster management will be on high alert.

Departments like National Highway, Public Works Department, PMGSY, ADB, BRO, CPWD have been asked to make arrangements to open it immediately if a road is interrupted due to rain. At the same time, all revenue sub -inspectors, village development officers and panchayat officers have been instructed to compulsorily stand in their field.

Administration in action in view of the weather
Police posts and police stations are also instructed to stay in alert mode with disaster related equipment. All officers and employees have been asked to keep mobiles on so that in any emergency, contact remains. Officials have been instructed to keep umbrella, rainy, flashlight, helmets and necessary ingredients in their vehicles.

If people get trapped in an area, then orders have also been given to ensure preparations to deliver necessary food and medicines. The state government and the disaster management department have appealed to the common citizens not to avoid unnecessary travel, do not go to rivers and drains and contact the administration in the event of any disaster. All schools in the state announced holiday today

In view of bad weather, one day holiday has been declared in all schools across the state. Secretary Disaster Management Vinod Kumar Suman said that today the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of rain. In view of this, one day holiday is declared on 30 June 2025 in all educational institutions and Anganwadi centers operated from classes 1 to 12. During this time, all Anganwadi centers along with all government/non -government and private schools will remain closed.
