Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Broke AB de Villiers Record: Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 has started from today i.e. December 24, 2025. The first match of this tournament is being played between Bihar and Arunachal Pradesh at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium Complex in Ranchi, in which Bihar’s vice-captain Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made the biggest score of his List A career. With this, he has broken AB de Villiers’ 10-year-old record by a margin of 10 balls. This 14-year-old left-handed batsman, breaking De Villiers’ record, has also made the record of the highest individual score for Bihar in List A cricket.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his highest List A score
In the match being played against Arunachal Pradesh in Ranchi, Vaibhav Suryavanshi batted brilliantly and scored 190 runs in just 84 balls. During this innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi had a strike rate of more than 226, which included 16 fours and 15 sixes. This is Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s first century in Vijay Hazare Trophy or List A cricket. Apart from this, this is also the biggest score of his List A career. Earlier, his highest score in List A was 71 runs.
AB de Villiers’ 10 year old record broken
AB de Villiers’ 10-year-old record was also broken during the innings played by Vaibhav Suryavanshi against Arunachal Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has now become the fastest batsman to score 150 runs in 50 over format i.e. in List A cricket. This record was earlier in the name of AB de Villiers, which he made against West Indies in the 2015 Men’s ODI World Cup. In this match, De Villiers had completed 150 runs in 64 balls, but after 10 years i.e. in the year 2025, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has created history by scoring 150 runs against Arunachal Pradesh in just 54 balls. Vaibhav has played 10 balls less than AB de Villiers to break the record of fastest score of 150 runs in 50 over format.
