The match between India and Bangladesh in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup is being played in Bulawayo (Zimbabwe). The Indian team was invited to bat first, for which Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a strong half-century. Suryavanshi was out cheaply in the match against USA, but he thrashed the Bangladeshi bowlers. He scored 72 runs in this match.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi started the Indian innings along with captain Ayush Mhatre. Ayush was out after scoring only 6 runs, but 14-year-old Suryavanshi held one end and completed 50 runs in 28 balls. He was out after scoring 72 runs in 67 balls. In this innings he hit 6 fours and 3 sixes. His wicket was taken by Iqbal Hussain.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi overtakes Virat Kohli
On the basis of this fifty, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has touched the figure of one thousand runs in Youth ODI cricket. In Youth ODI cricket, Suryavanshi has scored 1,047 runs in 20 innings. He has left Virat Kohli behind in terms of scoring the most runs in this format. Virat had scored 978 runs in 25 innings in his youth ODI career.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is currently at seventh place in the list of Indian batsmen who have scored the most runs in Youth ODI cricket. Shubhman Gill, Vijay Jol, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tanmay Srivastava, Unmukt Chand and Sarfaraz Khan are ahead of him in this list.
Abhigyan Kundu also shined
Wicketkeeper batsman Abhigyan Kundu has maintained his excellent rhythm. He scored an unbeaten 42 runs in the first match of the Under-19 World Cup. Till the time of writing this article, he has completed half-century in the match against Bangladesh.
In the World Cup, Team India is present in Group A, which also includes Bangladesh, USA and New Zealand. In its first match, Team India defeated USA by 6 wickets.
