Kashi vishwanath temple: The use of plastic has been banned from now on the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. This important decision has been taken in the meeting of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust Council on Sunday. In which the temple premises were approved for plastic free. In this meeting, it was decided that after the month of Sawan, admission will not be found in the Kashi Vishwanath temple by taking any kind of plastic.
Preparations for the month of Sawan in Kashi Vishwanath Temple have already started. Sawan is starting from July 11. In such a situation, lakhs of devotees come to the temple daily to see Lord Bholenath and offer water. In view of this, the temple administration met on Sunday. In this meeting, it was decided that since the month of Sawan, a campaign has been launched to free Baba’s court from plastic.
Preparation to free the temple complex plastic
Chief Executive Officer of the temple Vishwa Bhushan Mishra said that on 2024 December, a decision was taken to ban the plastic in the campus on behalf of the temple trust. After which work will be started on it now. People will be made aware through different campaigns in the month of Sawan. From 10 August 2025, devotees will not be able to enter the temple with any kind of plastic in the temple premises.
He said that devotees will not be allowed to go to the temple premises even with plastic with fruit flower worship material. People will be told that they cannot take milk, water, garland or other types of worship material inside any type of plastic vessel. A campaign will also be run on social media to make the devotees aware.
The use of single use plastic in the temple premises has already been stopped and now after the month of Sawan, the use of any kind of plastic in the temple premises will be completely stopped. After which the temple will be completely plastic free and it will also help in preserving the environment.
