When the foundation of a new house is laid, not only bricks and cement but also the foundation of faith and tradition are laid. According to Vaastu Shastra and beliefs, keeping some special items in the foundation maintains happiness, peace, prosperity and security in the house.
Copper Kalash- Ganga water, coin, turmeric, kumkum and flowers are kept in the copper Kalash. It is a symbol of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi and brings wealth and prosperity to the house.
Five whole turmeric or betel nuts – Turmeric is considered a symbol of auspiciousness and purity. Therefore, you can also keep five whole pieces of turmeric in the foundation. Along with this, whole betel nut for five pujas is also kept.
Four iron nails- Four iron nails are also placed in the foundation to protect from negative energy, evil powers and evil eye.
Along with this, things like betel leaves, sacred thread, jaggery, coconut, fruits, square stones, milk, honey, etc. in earthen pots are also kept in the foundation.
