Vasundhara Raje said, “Respected voters, I would like to express my gratitude to you for the enthusiasm with which you have voted peacefully. I am confident that your support will remain constant and together we will play an important role in the development of Anta assembly constituency.”
There were 15 candidates in the electoral fray of Anta.
In fact, more than 80 percent votes were cast in Anta constituencies of Rajasthan. There were 15 candidates in the fray in the Anta by-election, mainly the contest was between BJP’s Morpal Suman and Congress candidate and former minister Pramod Jain Bhaya. Anta assembly seat had fallen vacant after BJP MLA Kanwar Lal Meena was disqualified following his conviction in a criminal case.
More than 80 percent voting took place in the by-election in Anta assembly seat of Baran district in Rajasthan. Voting took place from 7 am to 6 pm at all 268 polling stations and the estimated turnout was 80.32 percent. There are a total of 2,28,264 voters in this assembly constituency, which include 1,16,783 males and 1,11,477 females. Counting of votes will take place on November 14.
At many places, voters stood patiently in long queues and waited for their turn to vote. Old age people, disabled people and women voters also did not lag behind in casting their votes. At the same time, new voters exercising their franchise for the first time reached the polling stations with full enthusiasm. Many men and women arrived in traditional attire to participate in the festival of democracy.
