There was a stir in a local train running in the Central Railway of Mumbai when a suspicious person wearing a burqa boarded the local train compartment reserved for women. The female passengers caught hold of him on suspicion and also recorded the video of the incident, but as soon as he reached Ghatkopar station, he jumped from the moving train and boarded the Karjat fast train going in the other direction and escaped.
According to the information, the incident occurred when the local train going towards CSMT was about to reach Ghatkopar station. The passengers became suspicious after seeing a person wearing a burqa in the ladies compartment. The women surrounded him and started interrogating him. During this time some passengers also made video recording.
Suspect jumped from moving train before Ghatkopar
It is being told that as soon as the train reached Ghatkopar station, the suspicious person suddenly jumped from the moving train in the opposite direction and escaped by boarding the Karjat bound fast train standing on the platform.

The women passengers immediately informed the police control room. After this, the police investigated at Mulund station and Thane station, but no clue of the accused was found. Ghatkopar RPF has registered a case under Section 162 of the Railway Act and started investigation.
Senior officer of Kurla GRP gave this information
Kurla GRP senior officer Sambhaji Yadav said that the teams of GRP and RPF are jointly searching for the suspect. He also said that last month, an incident of chain snatching by a person wearing a burqa had come to light at Ambivali railway station, whose FIR is registered in Kalyan GRP. Police suspect that the person involved in both the cases may be the same. At present the investigation of the entire matter is going on.
