A heart-wrenching picture has emerged from Suraj district of Gujarat. A shocking accident happened on Thursday (25 December 2025) morning in Rander Zone area of Surat. A middle-aged man fell from the 10th floor of a high-rise building in Jahangirabad area and got stuck between the window grill and the railing of the 8th floor. The rescue operation carried out by the fire brigade team to save this man, who was swinging between life and death for an hour, left people breathless.
Nitinbhai Adiya (aged about 57 years), living on the 10th floor of ‘Time Galaxy’ building in Block A near D-Mart in Jahangirabad, Rander Zone, was sleeping near the window of his house. During this time, he suddenly fell down from the window. Luckily, instead of falling straight to the ground, he got caught in the outer grill and canopy of the window on the 8th floor. His leg got stuck badly in the grill and he was hanging in the air.
Fire brigade started rescue
On receiving information about this, the fire brigade immediately swung into action and teams from three stations started the work. As soon as the fire control room received the call, understanding the seriousness of the situation, teams from three fire stations Jahangirpura, Palanpur and Adajan reached the spot.
Safety net installed as a precaution
As a precaution, the fireman placed a safety net on the ground below. The fire brigade team reached the spot and immediately started the operation with double protection plan. First of all, the fireman placed a safety net on the ground below, so that if he fell from above, his life could be saved.
On the other hand, the soldiers reached the 10th floor and 8th floor. Nitinbhai was tied safely from the 10th floor with a rope and safety belt. Nitinbhai’s leg got stuck in the grill of the 8th floor, so the fireman tried to remove him by cutting the grill with hydraulic cutters and tools.
One hour of effort and happy ending
After this huge effort that lasted for about an hour and the timely action of the firemen, Nitinbhai was finally taken out safely. They were pulled inside safely. The people present there were surprised to see this scene. Immediately after the rescue, he was shifted to the nearby Gurukripa Hospital for treatment in 108 ambulance. It is noteworthy that due to the immediate action of the fire department, one person’s life was saved.
