India Vs South Africa 2nd ODI Match: The second match of the ongoing 3-match ODI series between India and South Africa was played yesterday i.e. on December 3, 2025 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. Even though Team India’s young batsman Tilak Verma was not a part of the playing eleven in this match, he made his presence felt in the match with excellent fielding and saved five runs for the team. While South Africa was chasing the target of 359 runs in the second innings of Raipur ODI, Tilak came on the field as a substitute fielder and saved a six in the 20th over of the innings. Tilak, flying in the air like Superman, stopped the ball, which was going for a six outside the boundary. Aidan Markram looked surprised after seeing his effort, because it was Markram who had played that shot.

Tilak showed excellent athleticism

South African opener Aiden Markram played an aerial shot at long-on on the fourth ball of Kuldeep Yadav in the 20th over. Tilak, standing there, jumped high and caught the catch with both hands. However, when Tilak felt that he had gone under the boundary line, he showed amazing athleticism and intelligence and threw the ball back into the field and Tilak saved five runs for the team.
