BJP accused Mamata Banerjee of appeasement
Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Bengal Assembly, Subhendu Adhikari, shared a video on the social media platform, in which two persons are seen pulling down the saffron flag. He asked whether it is a crime for Sanatanis to hoist the sacred saffron flag on the holy occasion of Ram Navami in West Bengal? He accused CM Mamata Banerjee of appeasement.
Is it a crime to hoist the sacred Greek flag among children on the day of Ram Navami in West Bengal?
To throw the Greek flag hoisted by the Hindus with disregard for the sacred flag in Murshidabad’s Jangpeepur, is an insult to the sacred religion, an insult to the Hindu religion and a direct blow to the sentiments of the Hindus… pic.twitter.com/mYLVxynL8c— Suvendu Adhikari (@SuvenduWB) March 27, 2026
Facing humiliation in our own state: BJP
Shubhendu Adhikari said, ‘The humiliating manner in which the saffron flag hoisted by the Sanatanis was pulled down and thrown away at Phulatala turn in Jangipur, Murshidabad. This was a planned attempt to insult the sacred saffron flag, insult Sanatan Dharma and directly attack the sentiments of Sanatanis. It is entirely the result of Mamata Banerjee’s appeasement policies that Sanatanis are facing insults again and again in their own state.
