Viral Infection: Doctors alert if viral infection increases in the country, ICMR report will scare

According to the ICMR report, one out of every nine people in the country was found affected by some infection. The situation is very serious as viruses or pathogens were found in 11.1 percent of 4.5 lakh samples.

The study revealed several major viruses such as influenza A in ARI/SARI, dengue in high fever cases, hepatitis A in jaundice, norovirus in diarrhea and HSV in meningitis cases. This shows that the virus is active at many levels.

Doctors say that this increasing number is not just a matter of mild fever. These infections are taking the form of serious illness in children, elderly and people with weak immunity and are creating additional pressure on hospitals.

Overcrowding and rapidly increasing population are the biggest reasons for the spread of the virus. In cities, public transport, offices and markets bring millions of people closer every day, due to which the infection spreads rapidly.

Pollution is also affecting. Bad air weakens the lungs and immune system, increasing the risk of frequent cough, cold and fever. Fluctuations in weather and humidity allow mosquitoes and viruses to multiply rapidly.

Changes in immunity after COVID-19 are also among the reasons. Apart from this, filth, poor waste management and contaminated water spread diseases like hepatitis, norovirus and diarrhea rapidly.

According to experts, the biggest protection is daily habits like washing hands, wearing a mask, drinking clean water, protection from mosquitoes, not allowing water to accumulate in the house, nutritious food and adequate sleep. Also, it is very important to get flu and hepatitis vaccines on time.
