Virat Kohli Hundreds In International Career: Indian cricket team’s star player Virat Kohli is celebrating his 37th birthday today on Wednesday, 5th November. Virat’s name is included among the most successful players not only in India but also in world cricket. Virat Kohli has played more than 550 matches in his international cricket career. Kohli has 82 centuries in his name in this career. Virat is the second player to score the most centuries in international cricket. The name of veteran cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is ahead of Kohli. Sachin Tendulkar has scored 100 centuries in his international cricket career.

Virat Kohli’s more than 27,000 runs

On the birthday of Virat Kohli, a special post has been shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), in which the achievements of Virat’s cricketing career have been told. Virat has played 553 international matches so far in his cricketing career, in which Kohli has scored 27,673 runs. Virat Kohli has scored 82 centuries and 144 half-centuries in his international career.

  • Virat Kohli has played 123 test matches in his cricket career, in which he has scored 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85. Virat has scored 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries in Tests. Kohli has played his best inning of 254 runs unbeaten in Test cricket.
  • Virat has played 305 matches in One Day International and is still playing ODI. Virat has scored 14,255 runs in these 305 matches, which includes 51 centuries and 75 half-centuries. Kohli’s average in ODIs is 57.71. Kohli’s best score in ODI is 183 runs.
  • Virat Kohli has played 125 matches in T20 International, in which he has scored 4,188 runs at an average of 48.69. Virat has scored one century and 38 half-centuries in T20 cricket for India. Kohli’s highest score in T20 International is 122 runs not out.
  • Virat Kohli has three ICC trophies in his international career. Virat has been a part of the winning teams of ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2011, ICC Champions Trophy 2013, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Retirement from Test and T20 International

Virat has now retired from Test and T20 International cricket, but Kohli is still batting in ODIs. Virat played his last Test series in Australia in January 2025 and announced his retirement from Test cricket on May 12, 2025, before Team India’s tour of England. Earlier, Kohli was a part of India’s winning team in T20 World Cup 2024 and after this Virat said goodbye to T20 International cricket. Virat Kohli is still playing ODI cricket. Kohli scored an unbeaten inning of 74 runs in the third ODI against Australia.
