Virat kohli: Team India’s superstar Virat Kohli has invested a big investment of Rs 40 crore in Bangalore -based sports goods manufacturing company Agilitas. With this investment, the scope of their business portfolio has increased further. Kohli’s plan is to increase its stake by investing more in the company in the coming time. With this investment, Kohli will now not only play an important role in furthering the company’s brand ambassador, but also in advancing the company.
What does the company do?
Abhishek Ganguly, who was the managing director of Puma India, started this company in 2003. In the year 2023, Agilitas acquired India’s sports shoes making Mocheko.
The company makes shoes for big brands like Adidas, Puma, Rebok, Crocs, Skeches, Clarks, Decathlon, Asics. After this, the company also obtained licensing rights of the Lotto brand in India. The company’s plan is to get three more brand licenses in the coming time. One of these is Virat Kohli’s popular brand One8. Kohli signed a deal of Rs 110 crore as the brand ambassador of the company in the year 2017.
Kohli finished the deal with Puma
After finishing the 300 crore endorsment deal with Puma, Kohli decided to invest in Agelitas. Kohli also signed a contract of Rs 110 crore for eight years in 2017 with Puma. This year this contract was to be renewed again for Rs 300 crore.
However, before this, Kohli separated himself from this deal. Now with the new investment of Rs 40 crore, Agilitas issued about 3.6 lakh class 2 CCPS shares to Kohli. The company has already collected funding of Rs 500 crore from investors like Yuvraj Singh, Spring Capital and Nexus Venture Partners.
Kohli invests in many startup companies
Virat Kohli has invested money in many startup companies earlier also. These include names like MPL, Digit Insurance and Wrogn.
