This study has been published in the journal called Endocrine, Metabolic & Immune Disorders Drug Targets.
What is the connection?
This research told that AitD is the most found autoimmune disorder. Since the vitamin B12 plays an important role in running the immune system properly, scientists tried to understand the relationship deeply between the two. In this study conducted on 306 people, they were divided into two groups. One group in which people were deficient in B12 and the second group in which there was no shortage. He was also kept in groups with AitD and without AitD. Research found that the level of vitamin B12 was very low in the patients who had AitD. At the same time, there were more levels of anti-TPO among the people who were deficient in B12. That is, it is clear that the level of B12 is deeply connected to AitD.
Why is Vitamin B12 important?
Vitamin B12 is very important for our body. It helps in converting food into energy, making red blood cells and DNA. Lack of this not only causes fatigue and weakness, but it can also increase the risk of serious diseases like thyroid. Apart from this, B12 also works in a process called Methylation.
