Vitamin d deficiency: If you eat healthy food, do regular exercises, stay away from smoking and alcohol, yet the problems are going on in sex life, then perhaps the time has come that you get your vitamin D level checked. Vitamin D deficiency causes problems like fatigue, bone pain, muscle weakness and mood swings. A recent study has revealed that there may be a direct connection between vitamin D deficiency and erectile dysfunction (ED). This can cause problems in bedroom performance.
What is erectile dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction is a condition in which male partners i.e. men feel difficulty in getting or maintaining erections during sex. If this happens sometimes, it is not a matter of concern, but if this problem is happening again and again, then the reason for this can be any disturbance inside the body.
This can occur for many reasons, such as poor blood circulation, problem of nerve system, stress or any major disease such as heart disease or diabetes. ED is not just a sexual problem, but it can be an important sign of heart health. Vitamin D deficiency can also increase this problem, especially if you have problems like obesity or metabolic syndrome.

What does study say
In this study published in the British Journal of Pharmacology, researchers examined the tissues of private parts of men and mice. They found that vitamin D deficiency causes problems in erection.
In mice, it was observed that due to vitamin D deficiency, up to 40% more collagen accumulated in the penis tissue, which increased the problem of fibrosis. It was also found in humans that there was less proactiveness in blood vessels of the private part of those who had low vitamin D, and their body was not able to give the correct reaction on the nerve stimulator. Apart from this, vitamin D deficiency also makes medicines used for the treatment of ED to become less effective.
